Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
I'll experiment with the timing and see if that helps. So glad you mentioned your experience. I was expecting nausea, not those other symptoms. I'll just try to get through it - maybe they'll go away.

Funny enough a homotaurine derivative used in alcohol dependence therapy

has insomnia listed as a side effect.

Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
I took my first 50 mg cap yesterday with food and felt terrible. I get nauseous easily and have to take vitamins with a large amount of food, so I am not surprised. I would love to find a form that I can handle working up to the higher dose. I did not notice the other side effects, but I was pretty focused on how nauseated I was.
Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
I have considered ordering empty capsules and dividing up the 50 into 25 mg ones to use for a while to adapt to the dose.
Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
Quick update. Taking it at night seems to work great for me. No nausea. Sleep great. And wake up feeling good. I think maybe the effect builds overnight kicks in when it's time to wake up anyway.

Wow I think someone else mentioned that at night things went well. You take at bedtime presumably?
Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
I have been taking it for a month 150mg bid. I titrated the amounts for two weeks until I got to the recommended dose. I had some nausea for about 3 weeks about 2.5-3 hrs after taking a dose with a meal. Now I have no nausea at all.
Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
I’ve started with 50mg bid and have not experienced any side effects at all. I’m thinking I might stay at this dose for the foreseeable future since I’m in my 40s and it’s expensive to take the full experimental dose. Hoping it will still offer some benefit.
